FILM OF KARLSRUHE GERMAN ACTIVIST  PREMIERING AT KINEMATHEK

On December 7th, 2008 a  Karlsruhe attorney, politician and activist was brutally murdered on the shore of Lake Titicaca in Bolivia.  “The Gringa & the Musician,” a 2024 film exposes the culture clashes, corruption and negligence that has left this murder unsolved. It premieres in Europe with two screenings on Friday, May 18 and Sunday 20th at the Karlsruhe Kinemathek https://kinemathek-karlsruhe.de/film/the-gringa-the-musician/. The film has previously screened at six film festivals in Peru and New York City.

“More than 16 years later, the murder of Aune Hartmann remains unresolved,” said director Roberto Pazos.  “I am profoundly grateful for the friends, family members, and others who joined me on the fourney to make this film and who continue to seek justice.”

“Thanks to this documentary the Peruvian police have reopened the investigation into the case and reactivated the search for the suspect”, said producer Steve Hunsicker.
